I retired in 2015 as the Coast Guard’s Chief HR Strategist after serving 26 years in uniform and 21 years as a civilian. I hold a PhD in Organizational Psychology. I served Bowie as a member of the Environmental Advisory Committee from 2018-2020, when I assumed the chair, stepping down in September 2021. My wife and I have lived in Bowie for 32 years. I am committed to the Banner’s success for reasons I described in the Editorial in our first issue, Does Democracy Die in Darkness? The Need for Our Community Newspaper.

I am a journalist and mom living in Bowie, with my husband and two young children. I am a first-generation college graduate with degrees in English and Creative Writing. I am passionate about storytelling and building community through local news.

I am originally from Richmond, VA. I have been a Prince George’s County resident for about 20 years. I am a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a proud graduate of Virginia Union University. I am also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. I advocate for "staycations" and buying local! My goal is to highlight local entrepreneurs, execs and other talented folks in our community.
